Here’s something that’s slightly new to the city and oddly enough, it’s something we don’t see much of. The city is filled with your ordinary fast food joints and chicken spots, but not many barbecue places. This is what’s needed in the South and also local to the area, Mahon’s Real BBQ is one pit that easily become a go-to food truck.
Located in Groveland, Fl at a Shell Gas Station, (address below) I’m a newcomer but I’ve heard plenty of good things about Mahon’s but they did not disappoint! They got everything your favorite outdoor barbecue would have: Ribs, burgers, chicken, pork (both either pieces or pulled), brisket, turkey legs, etc. You can buy a plate to eat for yourself or you can buy by the pound! Don’t forget the sides, Mac N cheese, baked beans and collard greens!
You can get everything on their menu separately OR you can get a whole dinner for just $5! Yes, one choice of meat and two sides for just $5.. I got the chicken dinner, which is one big leg quarter with white cheddar Mac and cheese with some sweet baked beans. It’s a steal on a deal that will seriously fill you up! They also have a few desserts on their menu and southern style sweet tea, believe me this place is so southern, they even got Big Mama running the register taking orders. And who doesn’t love grandma’s cooking?
